Need help with my Macbook!! Please Help!!?

Hi, so my boyfriend and I share a Macbook computer, the black one. The thing is I am pretty illiterate when it comes to this thing, and I want to plan a vacation for the two of us for his birthday. The only thing is is everything that I look up shows in the history. If I keep deleting the history he'll know something is up, especially since he uses this computer for work stuff, and he uses the history for reference. So my question is, is it possible to delete only select items from the history? Or am I going to have to start going to the library to make our vacation plans!!?? PLEASE HELP!! Thanks in advance!!
